The website, launched by media company FortuneCity, lets non-technical users produce online Wap pages free of charge. Pages are stored on FortuneCity's servers.
FortuneCity expects many people to publish personal information like address books and contact details which they will then be able to access either from a PC or a Wap-enabled mobile phone.
Since its launch on 9 March, the company said it has registered more than 1000 members a day to the Wap Site Builder service and expects to see continued growth in the area.
"We are the first to market a Wap publishing tool on the internet and the demand for our new Wapdrive really has exceeded our expectations. The number of memberships is fantastic and a testament to our overall strategic vision for FortuneCity," said vice chairman, Dan Metcalfe.
The company also announced that it will increase the allocation of personal space for its members for regular websites from 20Mb to 100Mb. It said the upgrade will allow members to incorporate multimedia, flash animation, video and 3D graphics into their personal websites.
