Tom Tom has redesigned its Tom Tom One and XL sat-nav systems.
The new
Tom
Tom One and XL include a new windscreen mount that folds flat onto the
device when not in use.
Both systems also have an enhanced voice instruction system, with prompts
that the company claims are clear and loud enough to be heard above a car radio
"or a car full of excited children".
Tom Tom chief executive officer Harold Goddijn said: "The updated Tom Tom
One and Tom Tom XL are now even more desirable, offering a combination of
unrivalled ease of use, extreme portability, and the most comprehensive and
up-to-date maps.
"The distinctive design, with the convenience of the Easyport mounting
solution, will appeal to customers looking for a compact, smart, ultra-portable
navigation solution."
The Tom Tom One has a 3.5in touch screen display, while the XL has a 4.3in
widescreen display. The new models will be available from from May 2008, with
prices for the One starting at about £150 and the XL at £180.
