More than four in ten people who have used a car satellite navigation
system have got lost or been sent on circuitous detours according to a
which.co.uk survey.
Malcolm Coles, editor, which.co.uk, said: ""Sat nav systems are the latest
must-have gadget, but our survey shows that they aren't always reliable.
The consumer organisation found that 38 per cent of survey respondents have
used a sat nav system, but worryingly nearly half of them (43 per cent) have
either got lost or made a journey which took longer than it should have done.
Around a quarter (26 per cent) of those who have got lost or had a
longer journey said that as a consequence they use their sat nav system
less, or not at all.
Malcolm Coles said the results
of Which?'s
latest sat nav tests, include details of
Which? Best Buys that he said have proven themselves in rigorous tests to be
accurate and reliable.
