All Windows PCs and notebooks currently being sold at PC World with a retail
price of £399 or above, will receive a free upgrade to Windows Vista Home
Premium Edition early next year.
The retailer said from 26 October
until 15 March 2007, it will offer two levels of Express Upgrade. A free Express
upgrade to Windows Vista Home Premium Edition will be offered to customers
buying computers costing £399 and above.
For those who purchase machines costing less than £399, the Windows Vista
Home Basic Edition will cost half the recommended retail price. A charge may be
made for postage and packaging.
Customers of PC World will also be able to ask store staff or in-store
Techguys for advice and guidance on upgrade options. The Techguys provide a
range of in-store and home installation services for new PCs and software
upgrades and can also be contacted for advice by phone on 0870 240 1004.
